Most car seat reviews cover the first few months of ownership. We went back to three convertible seats after two years of near-daily installation and removal to see which details held up.

Buckle mechanisms on two of the three seats stayed snappy and easy to click even after regular sand and crumb exposure, while the third needed occasional compressed air to clear debris from the buckle well.

Fabric covers faded unevenly in seats parked regularly in direct sun, and only one of the three included a cover that was simple to remove and machine wash without disassembling the harness straps.
